Obituary
PINE BLUFF - Clarice E. Kalscheur, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. She was born on Sept. 30, 1934, in Bagley, Wis., the daughter of Richard F. and Florence M. (Stagman) Ward.
Clarice graduated from Waunakee High School with the Class of 1952. She was united in marriage to John Thomas Kalscheur on Oct. 16, 1956, at St. Mary of Pine Bluff Catholic Church. Together they were blessed with six children and farmed in Pine Bluff.
There was nothing Clarice loved more than being a mother, and she was the best! She always made every holiday a special occasion. She loved farm life--packing lunches, running supplies out to the field, and keeping the books. She worked hard all day and often times well into the night. Clarice loved to cook and bake and was well known for her potato salad and strawberry rhubarb crisp--always adding that special ingredient. She was a faithful servant at St. Mary of Pine Bluff Catholic Church, enjoyed being active at church functions, and served for many years on the Parish Council.
As an avid sports fan, Clarice never missed her boys’ wrestling matches and football games and her daughter’s cross-country meets. She also ran the Pine Bluff Little League for many years--from creating a snack bar, to fundraising, to organizing the schedule, Clarice made summers a special time for so many families. She loved watching the Packers and she and Tom had Badger season tickets for many years. They even traveled with friends to many away games. Clarice and Tom took annual fishing trips to Canada and Texas for the past 40 years. They also loved traveling and going on adventures with several of their lifelong friends.
Clarice is survived by her husband of 64 years, Tom Kalscheur; five sons, Kyle Kalscheur, Kym (Sheryl) Kalscheur, Kip (Janet) Kalscheur, Kory (Diane) Kalscheur and Kitt Kalscheur; daughter, Kammi (Chuck) Webb; grandchildren, Kourtney and Kurt Kalscheur; Nicole (Geoff) Hansen and Natalie Kalscheur; Brittany (Casey) Watkins, Emma Kalscheur (Travis Hellenbrand) and Jacob Kalscheur (Tara Hanna); Kitt Kalscheur Jr., U.S. Military Academy, class of 2023 and Emily Webb, Haley Webb (fiancé, Alec Soares) and Ashley Webb; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Hellenbrand, Brooke Watkins and Norah Hansen. She was preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Riley Jo Watkins; and sister, Ramona Jelinek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARY OF PINE BLUFF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3673 County Road P, Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021, with Father Richard Heilman presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary of Pine Bluff Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021, and also from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. Family will be sharing memories from 10:30 a.m. until the Mass begins at 11 a.m. on Monday. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary of Pine Bluff Catholic Church or to Agrace HospiceCare.
Kyle, Kym, Kip, Kory, Kitt and Kammi would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Agrace HospiceCare, Lisa Mahoney (Clarice’s wonderful care giver), and also to their Dad for his faith, compassion and loving commitment to do everything to keep their sweet Mom at home with him these past several years.
