Anderson L. Lehr

LODI - Anderson L. “Mick” Lehr, age 91, peacefully passed away on Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at William S, Middleton Memorial VA Hospital. He was born on March 20, 1930, in Ashmore, Ill., the son of the late John and Elsie (Harvey) Lehr. After graduating from Lodi High School in 1948, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during Korean War. On Sept. 18, 1954, he married Virginia Buckley in the Lodi Methodist Church. Anderson was employed with General Motors for over 30 years and was a member of the local UAW Union #95 until his retirement in 1984. He was a talented woodworker who enjoyed making many cabinets, stands, and furniture for his friends and family. He also was renowned for his detailed work while reupholstering furniture, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family. In addition to Virginia, his wife of 67 years, Anderson is survived by three sons, John (Carla), Jeff and James Lehr; daughter, Vicky (John) Wentworth; six grandchildren, Kenneth (Kathleen) Wentworth, Jessica (Matt) Wentworth-Wald, Thomas Wentworth, Gregory Lehr, Jacob (Jill) and Ryan (Samantha) Lehr; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth, Virgil, Maxwell, John, Leota, Maurine, Iris and Mary; and his great-granddaughter, Lilly Rose. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main St., at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Monday. Due to the recent COVID conditions, the family requests that masks be worn. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Haven Hills, Madison VA Intensive Care and Madison VA Hospice for their loving care.
