Obituary

BLOOMING GROVE - Michael Allen Peper, age 58, of Blooming Grove, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021. Michael, known to his friends and family as “Mic” or “Mike”, was born to Edna Mae (Judd) and Leonhard Peper on November 13, 1962, finding his place as the youngest of four. His parents bestowed onto him a lifelong love of working with his hands, and he used many of these skills and talents generously throughout his life helping those he cared for. Mic was well known as a maverick and a hard worker, but also enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, gathering morels and traveling. Mic was married to his loving wife and best friend, Alice (Sullivan) for over 25 years, and together they enjoyed undertaking large projects such as raising beef, chickens, horses, Labrador Retrievers, and other animals too numerous to mention. With their combined vision and creativity, they transformed and crafted a beautiful homestead together in the outskirts of Madison. He was an avid outdoorsman in any kind of weather, and his adventurous spirit carried him to explore countless locales, notably Idaho, Washington, Texas, Colorado, Key West, Michigan and Mexico. His quiet humor was endearing, and rarely was he seen without a sparkle in his eye and a grin to match, especially in the company of his children Sara, Jessica, Lisa, Lindsey and Bryan, and in later years, his grandchildren. Mic took effortlessly to his role as a grandfather, and truly cherished being “Papa” to his six grandsons Kevin, Kaden, Brock, Sully, Luca and Ryker; and to his granddaughter, Millie. Mic also took great pleasure in gathering with his extended Judd, Peper and Sullivan families. Mic will be missed dearly by his family, friends, both lifelong and new, his coworkers and customers from his many years of service at R.A. Heating and other HVAC companies in the area. He is survived by his wife Alice; children, Sara (Wade) Cherney, Jessica (Steve) Allen, Lisa (Tony) Antoniewicz, Lindsey (Thomas Skibsrud) Adler and Bryan (Kate) Adler; siblings, Debra (Pasqual) Peper, Greg (Sharon) Peper and Jeff (Cherie) Peper; many wonderful nieces and nephews, including Lukas, with whom he shared a close bond; mother-in-law, Helen “Lollie” Sullivan; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Renae) Sullivan, Raymond (Nicole) Sullivan and Michael Sullivan; and sisters-in-law, MaryPat Sullivan and Ellen (Vince) Marcantonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Leonhard; father-in-law, John J. Sullivan Jr.; and brother-in-law, John J. Sullivan III. A special thanks to all of the angels, including his siblings and children, as well as Stacy and Kevin Hinz, for making Michael comfortable and able to spend his remaining days in the peace of his beloved home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, as well as a Facebook memorial page. Please contact Alice and family for details. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com .
