Obituary

MADISON - Kenneth Winfield Barlow, of Madison, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He was born on August 26, 1932, the son of George W. and Margaret Barlow.


Ken graduated from Madison East High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1951-1953. He married Judy Sachtjen on June 19, 1954. They were blessed with six children and celebrated 51 years of marriage.


Ken loved playing baseball and bowling. He was a true fan of the Braves, Brewers, Badgers and the Packers.
 

Ken is survived by his children, (Dave) Joppa, Bruce (Jean) Barlow, Brian (Merry) Barlow, Beth (Jim) Bingham, Brad (Tammy) Barlow and Becky Barlow; 11 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; and daughter, Barb Joppa.


A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, with a luncheon to follow. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.


We would like to thank everyone at Agrace HospiceCare for their compassionate care for Dad and to Nicole and Loretta for their wonderful care while Dad was in the inpatient unit. Also, thank you to Cindy and Diane at Heritage Senior Living for your kind care of Dad.

I remember Grandpa at the charcoal grill when we were younger ccoking for whoever was there. Also, the game show he would watch with Grandma. Fun memories. Miss you Grandpa.

I remember Mr Barlow very well! He was my boss at W.T. Rogers Co. he taught me how to do the job and I was very grateful for his patience. I remember him being a very kind hearted person! My condolences to the Barlow Family!

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Ken Barlow. I worked with Ken at W.T. Rogers back in the 1980s, and he certainly made an impression on me! Ken was a great guy. With his friendly disposition and pleasant demeanor, Ken was a well-liked and respected supervisor at the company. Ken had a great sense of humor, and I still laugh thinking about some of the funny stories he used to tell. Ken was an excellent bowler, and his dapper bowling attire was legendary. My condolences to the Barlow family at the loss of your father and grandfather.
