Ray and Nancy, I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation lakeside on Sat. March 20th. After our talk I did find out the definition of “Ice Off” just like I promised I would. I’m just sad I wasn’t able to report back to you "Ice Off" = The lake is considered thawed when it is possible to boat from any shore to the deepest part of the lake without encountering ice. We will always remember. May you Rest In Peace. Sue & Don Tipple

I met Ray while waitressing at Willies and Teddies, in Lodi, sometime around 1995-96. Having a similar sense of humor, we became great friends. I even worked part time for him at Country Press, while going to college, and I always think of Ray when I drive by. In fact, he has been crossing my mind a lot lately, so I had to sit down when I came across his obituary. Ray always talked about his family, how proud he was of his boys, how much he adored his daughter-in-laws....and how lucky he felt to be married to Nancy. I even remember a story he told me about a Bassett Hound (Dozer?), eating glass ornaments off the Christmas Tree. I will always remember Ray fondly, and it is with much regret that I didn't get in touch while I had the chance. My Condolences to the family. Julie L Thompson Lodi, Wi.
