Condolences to Lyles family. We had not thought of him for many years. We got to know him in the seventies when he sold us our lot on Forest View Dr., in East View Heights, Verona. My husband and I both enjoyed dealing with him. So friendly and honest. Before reading his obit, we did not know he was involved in so many diverse careers and interests. Sounds like he lived life to the fullest. Peggy & Joe

I worked with Lyle at Ultratec/Advanced Assembly for the past 5 years. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't stop by my office to ask about my granddaughter, Bella, and he never missed an opportunity to spend time with Bella when I brought her into work. Lyle also loved to share comic strips with me, even though he warned me beforehand that they were not HR appropriate (haha). Words can't express how much Lyle will be missed and my thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to your entire family.

Lyle and I only overlapped for four years in the Department of Astronomy, but I remember him vividly. My father was a millwright, and I always felt a kinship every time I walked into the shop to talk with Lyle. Little did I know that they had both been Navy airplane mechanics during WWII. I had to laugh when I read that Lyle worked another 28 years in a machine shop - didn’t surprise me in the least! Our daughter was born with hip dysplasia and was in a brace when she would have been crawling. Hearing this, and without my asking, Lyle built a scooter so that she could pull herself around our house. That was just Lyle – kind, giving, and creative. I, and we in the department, have missed him.
