Obituary
Madison - Betty A. Veith, age 88, of Madison, went home to the Lord on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021. She was born on Aug. 14, 1932, in the Town of Burke, the daughter of Jack and Alma Landsness. Betty graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1950. She married Raymond Veith Sr. on Dec. 2, 1950, in Madison.
Betty worked for Dynatax and Capitol Ford, but was best known as the “Tax Lady,” doing taxes for family and friends. She was a charter member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Charley Pride Fan Club. Betty enjoyed embroidering for her family and was a proud 49ers fan, having traveled to 31 of their games. However, the most important thing to her was time spent with her family.
Betty is survived by five children, Ray (Kim) Veith Jr., Jim (Pat) Veith, Carol Luther, Joe (Chris) Veith and Cathy (Don) Frank; 11 grandchildren, JJ, Paul, Chrissy, Scott, Michelle, Cassie, Candie, Tyler, Brodie, Gabby and Macy; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Veith Sr.; son, John "Buddy" Veith; son-in-law, Al Luther; and granddaughter, Allie Veith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday March 4, 2021, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Family and friends who wish to view the service via LIVE STREAM may visit Betty's obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com and click on the Live Webcast link at the time of service. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, and also at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.

My deepest sympathies to the whole Veith family on the passing of one of the nicest people someone would ever meet. Betty was a great neighbor and friend. She would always get a Christmas gift for each member of our family, and as a Oakland Raider fan she would always get me something pertaining to the Raiders. How cool was that. That was the type of person Betty was. She would always think of the other person. God bless you Betty and Rest In Peace.

Betty was a nice Lady, she also was the Grandma to our three Granddaughters, and GG to our six Great Grandchildren. We have had many good times together. She will be missed greatly. Love, Gene and Marilyn

I met Betty in the summer of 1968. Our family had just moved to John Street and my parents were registering us at St. Dennis Catholic school. While my brother, two sisters and I were waiting outside on the school grounds, we met some really nice kids that lived in a little house on the corner, adjacent the parish. This cheerful Mom offered us a Coca-Cola from an ample stock in the garage. The Coke gave me an extra boost of energy I needed to chase another kid from the neighborhood around on his mini-bike (Mitch Smith). Little did I know that her second oldest child, Jimmy and Mitch Smith would become "biking buddies" in High School. Jim on his Harley, Mitch on his Suzuki, me on my Honda. Jim and I would later be in eachothers wedding parties. Jimmy's family always inspired me of the way a family should be. Loving, outgoing, and kind. They raised their kids right, and had the respect of all who knew them. Though I've been out of the loop for awhile, I'll always hold Ray and Betty in high regard for being ordinary people with extraordinary influence in all the right ways...through a loving family. Betty, I see you and Ray dancing in heaven, like you did in the Dells my wedding day. There are so many wonderful memories❤️ We were at the Dell’s riding the train. “ Black Bart” attempts to rob (pretend) the train. Aunt Betty told him to stop it. Angel food cake. Cases upon cases of Coke in the garage😊 I loved her dearly💕💕💕

My sympathy and prayers for the entire Veith Family. I am a lifelong member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. Carol and I were in the same grade at St. Dennis School. I remember Betty as a woman who always smiled. She had a great sense of humor as well.
