Obituary
Lodi - Margaret Joyce McCubbin, age 99, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Sienna Crest Lodi.
She was born on August 2, 1925, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Dugdale) Jentz.
Joyce was a 1943 graduate of Platteville High School.
On Oct. 2, 1948, Joyce married Eugene McCubbin in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2001. Joyce and Gene spent many years enjoying their home and life on Lake Wisconsin.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and active with the Women of the Church and Martha Esther Circle, and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, the Okee Assn., the Okee-Lend-a-Hand Club, Stitch and Chat Club, and the Christian Women.
Joyce had a variety of interests including nature and being outdoors, making pine needle baskets, and quilting for family and friends. She always enjoyed a good book and spending winters with Gene in Florida but loved most spending time with her family.
Joyce was a gracious, strong and fun loving mom, grandma, great grandma and friend who will be missed by many.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Stephen (Audrey) and Gregory (Jane); four grandchildren, William (Heather) Hermanson, Joel (Shanna) McCubbin, Jillian (Jeff) Gort, Dustin (Bethany) McCubbin; nine great-grandchildren, Alexander and Dexter Gort, Benjamin, Riley, and Hunter McCubbin, Jasmine and, Keesha Thomas, Justyn and Allya Hermanson; her great great-grandson, Zy'aire; and other relatives and many friends
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and in-laws, Betty Jentz, Nancy (Neal) Myers; Donald (Martha) McCubbin; and her grandson, Jacob Vorlander; two special aunts, Cynthia Keene and Roxy Mueller.
Private family Memorial services will be held at Gunderson Lodi Funeral & Cremation Care, 157 S. Main St., Lodi
Memorials may be made to Reach Out Lodi, Lodi American Legion Auxiliary and Agrace Hospice.
A special thank you to Agrace Hospice Team, especially Chris, Emily, Derek and Melanie and also to the staff at Sienna Crest Lodi for the care and comfort they provided Joyce in her final journey.
