Obituary
STOUGHTON - Jean C. Miller, age 80, of McFarland, passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on Sept. 1, 1942, in Stoughton, the daughter of Carl and Vera (Townsend) Nordness. Jean graduated from Stoughton High School in 1960. She married Robert Miller on July 16, 1966, at First Methodist Church in Stoughton.
Jean lived in Stoughton her entire life. She worked at IGA as a meat wrapper and was also the place she met Robert. Jean made personalized Care Bears for special occasions, always wanting people to feel special. With her kind heart and good sense of humor, Jean was very welcoming and a great party host providing both food and drinks for family and friends. She touched so many lives leaving a lasting impact. When she wasn’t entertaining, Jean enjoyed sewing, Hardanger or listening to music and Polka dancing with Robert.
Jean is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Theresa (Edward) Howell and Heidi Volker; close family friend, Vicki Sersch and son Leo Endres; six grandchildren, Thomas (Samantha) Field, Mariah (Sam) Jeffers, Robert Field, Kristen Volker, and Amanda (Augustus) Howell; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Jeffers, Mira Jeffers and Paige Field; brother, John (Barbara) Nordness; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 3, 2022. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
