William Albright

I was camping with Bill in Arkansas during a Walking Stick migration. It was the first time I had ever seen one. I was at first amazed watching one on the ground. As night fell They began to fall like rain from the trees. It was incredible! We then continued south to Aransas Wildlife Refuge where we heard Whooping Cranes and saw phosphorescent alga glowing in the breaking waves and leaving trails as we walked on the beach. Bill, I'll miss you and am so glad that you were my friend.

Bill was my very first friend when my family moved to Madison in 1964. We spent many hours together misbehaving in the trombone section during band practice and a little more seriously playing in the brass choir at First Congregational. He was a great friend. A colleague, friend and great dad. We worked and played together. I will especially miss his great smile and laugh. We will all miss him!
