Evelyn June Mueller

MADISON - Evelyn Mueller, age 96, passed on Monday, April 26, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 17, 1925, in Madison, to Clarence and Anna (Moses) Bade. Evelyn graduated from Madison Central High School. She married Lawrence Mueller on April 10, 1948. On Oct. 7, 1951, she had twin daughters, Jo Ann Shaffer and Jean (Dave) Decker. She was employed by Wisconsin Bell, until her retirement on May 2, 1989. Evelyn volunteered at St. Mary’s after retirement for a while. She liked roller skating, knitting, crocheting and gambling. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, JoAnn and Jean (Dave); grandchildren, Gary Shaffer (Jackie), Cathy Black, Erika McNeil (Ryan), Monika Sharp (Josh), Daniel Decker and Jason Decker (Drew); and eight great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Ray and Roger. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, only 50 people are allowed into the funeral home at one time. Social distancing and facemasks are required.
