Obituary

RICHLAND CENTER - Evelyn J. Fraser, age 74, of Richland Center, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on Nov. 7, 1946, in Patch Grove, Wis., the daughter of Earl Robert Ambler and Nellie Juanita (Killebrew) Ambler. Evelyn grew up living in various areas of Illinois and Wisconsin as her father worked for the railroad after World War II. She graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School. A kind soul who blessed everyone she came into contact with, she was a Master Chef and the brains behind several Madison area hot spots such as The Bottom Line and Shooters Pub, before going into business with her daughter to open Tobie's Cafe and Cardinal Catering, which they ran for almost 10 years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and traveling the world with Jim. Her garden was another passion - she had an artistic eye for design, form and function. She especially loved creating memories with her granddaughter and playing with her treasured Shih Tzu, Lily. Evelyn is survived by her life partner, James D. Martin; daughter, Dannelle (Andrew) Gay; granddaughter, Sarah Gay; son, Christian Fraser; sisters, Barbara Burdick, Earlene Fox, Joyce Ninham, Patsy Kramer and Karen Knote; brothers, Dennis Knote, Jim (Joanne) Ambler, Tom Ambler, and Guy Ambler; her first husband, Burr Fraser; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Anthony Fraser; second husband, Gerald Liverseed; sister, Gerilyn (Norman) Cowing; and brother, Daniel Ambler. A family celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank - she spent some time very hungry when she was a child and wanted to make sure no one ever felt the same way. We attended a birthday party of one of her dear friends summer of 2019. It was a beautiful summer day with friends. It was a day of friendship filled with stories and laughter. I took this picture of Evelyn. She was so happy that day. She had such a beautiful smile.
