Maureen Rosenberger

CROSS PLAINS - Maureen Amelia Rosenberger, age 78, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at Four Winds Manor, in Verona, Wis. She was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Rhinelander, Wis., to Otto and Irene (Olson) Lader, the youngest of three girls (Janet, Sandra and Maureen), their father’s “Three Queens.” Maureen graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1960. She married James Rosenberger and they lived in Stevens Point, Sheboygan and Beaver Dam, Wis., before settling in Cross Plains, Wis., in 1975, with their three children, Krista, Justin and Keil. Family traditions were very important to Maureen and she loved cooking for her family, entertaining for any holiday, cuddling with her cats by her fireplace and sitting on her back porch watching the birds. She retired from the Middleton-Cross Plains School District, having worked for many years as an elementary school special education paraeducator. Maureen is survived by her children, Krista (Ron) Miller of Madison, Wis., Justin (Arwen) Rosenberger of Cross Plains, Wis., and Keil Rosenberger of Cross Plains, Wis.; her sister, Sandra Johnson of Madison, Wis.; five grandchildren, Carly, Ryann and Ethan Miller and Malcom and Everly Rosenberger; and one niece and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three nephews. A private burial will be held due to COVID restrictions, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date, when we can all gather safely. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
