Ronna L Kelley
November 27, 1945 - December 24, 2020
Obituary
COTTAGE GROVE - On Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, Jesus Christ came for one of his choice servants, Ronna Lee Kelley, who was the epitome of Proverbs 31:10: “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.”
Ronna was born on Nov. 27, 1945, at Beaver Dam Hospital, to Roy and Alfreida Hendricksen. She grew up in Fox Lake and attended Waupun High School. After graduating, she received her nursing degree from Madison General. The majority of her career was spent at Central Wisconsin Center where she helped many patients and had an impact on both the patients and other nurses she worked with.
Ronna was an active member of Door Creek Church and loved working in the church garden and Olbrich Gardens with her husband. She also loved Women’s Bible Study and made many close friends there. Ronna and Bob loved to travel but especially loved their annual vacations to Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sanibel, Fla.
Ronna, who fought a difficult battle with cancer, is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Kelley of Cottage Grove; two sons, Scott Kelley and Steve (Sara) Kelley both of Fitchburg; and six grandchildren, Scott’s children, Samantha Kelley of Green Bay, Jacob Kelley, a graduate of West Point and Benjamin Kelley, a student at UW-Whitewater; and Steve and Sara’s children, Maddy Kelley, a student at Bentley University, Erica Kelley, a student at Verona High School and Emilia Kelley, a student at Verona High School.
Despite not seeing Scott’s children for many years, Ronna was proud of all her grandchildren and loved each of them.
Ronna is also survived by her sister, Joyce Eichenseer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be terribly missed by Bob’s brother, Michael Kelley; and sister, Nancy Schoenenberger, with whom she had a wonderful friendship.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lois Walsh; brother, Bob Hendricksen; and brothers-in-law, Lee Eichenseer (husband of Joyce) and Glenn Schoenenberger (husband of Nancy).
Ronna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a deep faith, was known for her sense of humor and will be missed by all that knew her.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, which will be LIVE STREAMED. Friends and family who wish to view services via LIVE STREAM may visit Ronna’s obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com and click on the Watch Webcast link. Bob, Scott and Steve will be traveling to Arizona in February to scatter her ashes on one of the mountains she and Bob loved to climb.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to any of the following in Ronna’s name: Door Creek Church in Madison, Agrace HospiceCare of Southern Wisconsin and UW Carbone Cancer Center. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Ronna was always a favorite aunt of mine while I grew up. Maybe it was because she was close in age, but even more because she was so much fun! I know this world is a bit dimmer for having lost her light. But then again heaven is just that much brighter! Hugs and prayers to all her family and everyone who had her in their lives. Peg Yoakam

I have been a neighbor of Bob & Ronnas for the past 10 years. They are both such great people. She kept the prettiest yard on on our block. My condolences to Bob and his family.

Dear Bob and family, Oh how sad we are to hear of Ronna's passing. Your loss is great and God alone knows that and how to meet your every need. We are praying for you. It was such a joy to know Ronna and experience the joy of the Lord through her adventure in Israel. I can imagine her "oohs and aahs" as she walks heaven's streets and talks with the Lord. Keep walking with Him, he will be faithful.
