Sabine was the most amazing woman! She lit up the room whenever we met with her! She had a GREAT sense of humor, which I think was what helped her immensely through the last years of her life. She and David had such an amazing relationship. Sabine’s energy was so infectious! She will be missed by so many and so sad to see her move on but totally understand under the circumstances!

Sabine was Madison's Pedestrian-Bicycle Coordinator for several years in the early 1980s. If I remember correctly she was the first person to hold that position. Sabine did an excellent job of advocating for and advancing the interests of local bicyclists. I was one of several Madison Bicycle Brigade members who worked extensively with her. Of all the City staff we dealt with, Sabine was the only one who truly and instinctively understood the need to make commuter bicycling much safer and more convenient. She was the best possible advocate towards getting those needs met, and an absolute joy to work with.
