Obituary

MOUNT HOREB - Jon Blaine Vine, age 56, passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at UW Hospital in Madison, with his mother and other family members at his side. Jon “Jonny” was born on Nov. 25, 1964, in Chicago, Ill. Jonny was the eighth of 11 children born to Robert and Joyce (Ewers) Vine. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1969, settling in the Highland/Muscoda area. In his late teens and early twenties Jonny moved around a lot. He finally settled in Mount Horeb, where he lived for over 25 years. Jonny loved being close to his oldest sister and her family and liked the town, its people and all of its antique stores. Jonny was a born-again Christian. He was a shy and gentle person who went through a lot of hard times in his life, but always tried to keep a positive outlook. Chatting to a store clerk or the girls at the bank, listening to Debbie Harry (Blondie) albums or visits with family or his best friend, Nichole, made Jonny happy. Jonny was artistic and musical, a great dancer and just the sweetest guy. His beautiful heart left an impression on everyone he met. Jonny never judged, only loved and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Jonny is survived by his mother, Joyce Vine; five sisters, Cherie (Vine) Miller, Susan (Mike) McVay, Gail (Blair) Glick, Cynthia Vine and Valerie (Vine) Habel; five brothers, Robert Vine Jr., Steven Vine, Forrest Vine, Christopher Vine and James Vine; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jonny was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Eric Miller, in 2003. Services will be held at Gunderson Camacho Funeral & Cremation Care, Mount Horeb, on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, followed by burial at Springdale Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Mount Horeb. Services are family only due to COVID-19 restrictions. A celebration of Jonny’s life will be held at a later day. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. My Brother Jonny. I have so many great memories about you that I really don't know were to start. You taught me how to dance when I was in my teens. Me my freinds and yours would hang out in richland center. Enjoyed those times. Rock Bridge. Walking around town. Laughing and laughing. You were such a sweet heart of a person and brother. Anyone who knew you was blessed. Jonny always found the good in people. He made sure that they knew they were important. My brother Jonny I will miss you! I know you are alive in Heaven! I send my love to you my dear brother. You are etched into my heart. Jamie.

I am Jonny's big sister. He and I were joined at the hip from the time he was old enough to walk and as he learned to talk, he had a difficult time pronouncing my name. Instead of Cherie, he called me Wear-dee. It was so cute! Jonny and I have always had a special bond and I will miss him dearly. My world will never be the same without him in it.
