Obituary

MCFARLAND - Nicole Marie “Niki” Schultz, age 38, of McFarland, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 after courageously battling cancer for over a year. She was born on May 5, 1982, in Janesville, Wis., the daughter of Michael and Charlene (Reis) Wittlieff. Niki graduated from Janesville Parker High School in 2000 and received her undergraduate and master's degree in Criminal Justice from the UW-Platteville. She married her high school sweetheart, Jared Schultz on Sept. 20, 2008, in Janesville. Niki proudly served as a federal probation officer for the United States District Court, Western District of Wisconsin and U.S. Probation Office and Pretrial Services. Niki’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her three young children. She was so proud of them and was their biggest fan at sporting events and activities. She enjoyed perfecting her shot on the gun range and loved to travel. Niki was fluent in memes, Friends TV quotes and 90’s hip hop. For those who knew Niki, she was the life of the party; for those who loved her, she WAS the party. Niki had a knack for turning strangers into friends, hosting fun gatherings and was a true and fierce friend. Niki lived her life as she would want us to now; with strength through adversity, joy above fear and laughter through tears. Niki is survived by her husband, Jared; daughter, Lauren; two sons, Bennett and Brady; parents; and brother, Jon Wittlieff. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Friends and family who wish to view services via LIVE STREAM may visit Nicole's obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com and click on the Watch Webcast link. A visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, 2020, and also from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday. Entombment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the family to help with her children's education would be appreciated.
