I did not know John, but I was a very close friend of LeRoy Onsrud, until his untimely tragic death in the fall of 1949. I knew his sister Mary, and we had lunch with Mary and Al, about ten years ago in Venice, FL. Sad to note that they are both gone, as is Marcia. I was related to Sime's, through my Grandmother Asperheim, but I don't know the details. She died in 1940, when I was eight years old.

I worked a summer for John on the farm pitching corn stacks into the hay mow. He taught me how to nap after lunch and how important hat was to keep you going during the day. A hard working man that loves his farm and family. My thoughts and prayers to Bruce and all his family.

My condolances to the entire Sime family. Your dad/grandpa was a wonderful man. I knew him because I worked for 7 years planting, harvesting and stripping tobacco for him. I have fond memories of him. He was a hard worker and a good man. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
