(Ziehmke) Meister, age 74, of Brooklyn, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, following a 15 year fight with breast cancer. She was born on Oct. 8, 1946, in Portage, the daughter of Herman and Jean Ziehmke. She married Dean Meister on March 29, 1969. Gail graduated from Portage High School in 1964. She attended MATC for Office Management and the University of Wisconsin for Agriculture. Gail worked for Wisconsin Power and Light (Alliant Energy) and retired from ATC. She was a 4-H leader and superintendent for over 35 years. Gail is survived by her husband, Dean Meister; two daughters, Tara (Matt) Buringa and Julie (Ritchie) Lloyd; son, Kevin Meister; grandchildren, Leanne (Francisco) Valdes, Samantha Lloyd (Austin Adams), Allyson Lloyd and Emma Buringa; sisters, Jane Ziehmke, Kay Bryan, Sue (Greg) Fahey and Caryl (Richard) Biege; brother, David (Patty) Ziehmke; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives along with many adoring friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Meister; parents, Herman and Jean Ziehmke; and sister, Phylis (Richard) Haak. A private service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020.
