Obituary

STOUGHTON- Robert M. “Bob” McKee, age 82, of Stoughton, passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at Milestone Senior Living surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 30, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Hilda Salminen. He served in the U.S. Air Force from April 30, 1956, until his honorable discharge on Oct. 23, 1959. Bob worked as a Driver/Lineman for General Telephone (GTE) for over 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and helping others. Bob loved his birds, Cruiser and Green Jeans, and his dog, Muffin. Most of all he treasured the time spent with his daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Bob is survived by three daughters, Amy McKee, Lisa Streich, and Carla (Billy) Conklin; and seven grandchildren, Rachel Ballmoos, Sabrina (Kevin Kells) Streich, Ryan (Sarah Hose) Streich, Trenten Conklin, Ashlee Ballmoos, Camren Conklin, and Tyler Conklin. He was preceded in death by his mother. Bob’s daughters would like to thank the staff at Milestone Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they gave him. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N., Stoughton, from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021. Military honors will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Burial will be private at Lutheran East Cemetery in Stoughton. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Our condolences and sympathies to Bob's family. He was a good and loyal friend to my family and we have fond memories of him and his girls. My parents were Jerry and Marion Pedersen. Bod and Amy, Lisa, and Carla often visited with them in their apartment, my mother often babysitting for them. My mother often referred to him as "son Bob," and my parents thought of the girls as if they were grandchildren. He traveled to Florida once and also came out to Montana to see them once after they moved here to be closer to family and we had a good time reminiscing about the old times. He had a quirky sense of humor too and we often joked about silly things. He used to tease me about the time I got lost in Horne's. If that small store is still there, you know it only had two aisles. He was fun at book study too. My kids, Erik and Anna, remember him and send their sympathies too. We all look forward to seeing him again in the New World, in which he firmly believed. Our love to his family. Jeris Halverson
