Bev Lind, who we loved since the day we moved to Wisconsin in 1963, left us behind this week. She changed my life for the better in so many ways. I was a fearfully shy girl, and Bev was the only person outside our family i would talk to. I trusted her immediately at 5 years old. Everything she touched, she made better. There’s a celebration in heaven this week. Gaylis “Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you’re there. It doesn’t matter what you do, he said, so as long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that’s like you after you take your hands away.” Fahrenheit 451

Bev was my friend for almost 48 years! We lived across the street from each other in Madison, WI when our kids were little. Even after we moved away in 1979, we kept in touch. We had many laughs together and our hearts remain connected- even now as she rests with our heavenly father. RIP my dear friend.
