Obituary
CROSS PLAINS – Lynell I. Johnson of Cross Plains, Wis., passed away on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, in her 80th year. She was born in 1940 to the late Nells and Lillian Freng in Thief River Falls, Minn.
She was a beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Johnson, whom she married in 1962 in Madison, Wis. She proudly worked at Preferred Title for 30 years, retiring in 2005.
Her favorite passion was quilting. She looked forward to attending quilting shows in Madison with her sister, Dianne. Lynell also enjoyed spending time in her three-season porch reading, completing Sudoku puzzles as well as shopping at QVC.
She is survived by her son, David (Trish) Johnson; and daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Davis. She is also survived by her sister, Dianne (Larry) Schmidt; brother, Larry (Gloria) Freng; and her aunt, Ida Moen. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

I worked with Lyn for many many years at Preferred Title-starting in 1972 until she retired. Back then, it was Lyn, Edith, my Dad Perry, my brother Perry, and me. Lyn was such an important part of Preferred Title, and she taught me so much.
She was such a kind person-had a nice thing to say about everyone.
She will be missed.

Larry and Dianne, I was so sorry to hear of Lynell's passing. She was a very lovely person. Larry,I last spoke with her at your 70th birthday party. I loved that she was so talkative. She was always so quiet.

Larry and Dianne, sorry to hear of Lynell's passing. I will always remember fondly, our growing up years in the 40-50's from our Busse Street neighborhood. Seems like the only time any of us sort of "connect" is when we spot a familiar name in the newspaper obits. I do remember seeing Bill's passing announcement also, some years past. Deepest sympathy's from the Steimel's.

So very sorry for your loss. Lynell (Susie)) was so nice, always quiet, almost to a fault. Glen tells me she became much more talkative later in life. In fact I remember seeing her at Sandy beach when we were kids. I was always going to call her and ask her to breakfast. I feel very guilty that I did not. God Bless you Dianne and Larry. Love you.
