Obituary

MADISON - Ramona M. (Woider) Swenson, age 92, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 16, 1928, in La Crosse, Wis., the daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Siekert) Woider. Ramona attended Central High School and met her future husband, Kendall Boyd Swenson, the older brother of her best friend. They were married at the Little Brown Church in Dubuque, Iowa on Nov. 1, 1947, and shared a life full of love, joy, and happiness. Their love story continued for 57 years until Boyd’s passing. Mona loved being a part of the large Swenson family. She also enjoyed bowling, dancing, holidays, and cooking. Mona was a fabulous cook and immaculate homemaker. Mona and Boyd were grateful for their many years together and the countless years in retirement. Mona cherished the loving memories of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, family and friends. The legacy left by Mona and Boyd began with their two children, Linda Rae (Donald) Nisius and Perry Boyd (Lynell) Swenson; grandchildren, Craig (Tammy) Sauk, Kimberly Sauk, Keeley Nelson, Tiffany (Matt) Grauvogl, Kerri Coddington (fiancé Ryan Skelton) and Kasey Swenson (fiancé Laura Allen); 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mona is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Janet (Jim Olson) Woider and Barbara (Ken) Spink. Mona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Boyd; parents; brother, Donald “Skip” Woider; great-grandson, Henry Sauk; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law of the Swenson family. A special thank you to Agrace HospiceCare for helping Mona complete her final wish to pass at home. Due to COVID-19, no services will be held. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
