James Arthur Riege

MADISON- James Riege, age 64, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020. He was born on Sept. 2, 1956, in Madison, the son of George and Gladys (Koenig) Riege. James graduated from LaFollette High School in 1974 and received an associate degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant for several firms in the Madison are during his career. James enjoyed helping to keep track of fire calls to support the fire department. He had a fascination for the military and was a Civil War buff. James loved animals, especially cats. James is survived by his two sisters, Rebecca Riege and Susan Riege; two brothers, Peter Riege and John (Susan) Riege; aunt, Marion Bridge; and cousin, Mike (Bev) Riege. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, with Father Chad Droessler presiding. A burial will follow at Blooming Grove Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and face masks are required. Memorials may be gifted in James' name to the Dane County Humane Society.
