Palmer was one of my earliest and longest friends and work mates in Madison. We shared many memories from times canoeing, camping, working at John J Flad, Architects. I should have had more photos, but here are a few. /Users/fredpeterson/Desktop/SCAN7322.jpeg/Users/fredpeterson/Desktop/SCAN1154.jpeg/Users/fredpeterson/Desktop/SCAN0086.jpeg/Users/fredpeterson/Desktop/120219 scans 4-18.jpeg/Users/fredpeterson/Desktop/SCAN0086.jpeg/Users/fredpeterson/Desktop/SCAN0460.jpeg

I will always remember the example that Lydia and Palmer showed in how to be a loving, supportive married couple. It was a gift that allowed me to have a happy marriage, too.

I'm so saddened by the loss of Palmer. I am a friend of Doug's but didn't know Palmer well. Even so, I met him occasionally around Mount Horeb over the past few decades, as he humbly provided services for the library or the Garden Club. His warmth and grace always made me smile. He was a lovely, talented man, and a wonderful human being. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy goes out to all who loved him, especially Lydia, Doug and family. May you be heartened for years to come by your memories of him.
