Obituary

MADISON - Sandra L. Kaltenberg, age 62, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at Ingleside Manor in Mount Horeb. She was born on July 12, 1958, in Anderson, Ind., the daughter of Walter and Nancy (Christopher) Bockover. Sandra graduated from LaFollette High School in the class of 1976. She married Steven Kaltenberg on Dec.29, 1982. In the 90s, she drove a Metro Ride bus for years. Sandra also worked for many years at the Pleasant Company. Prior to retirement, Sandy worked for Copp’s on the Northside of Madison. She was a very active member at Black Hawk Church, where she worked with the children's programs and was a church ambassador. Sandy loved being around children, but her own family was her greatest joy. She loved being a mother and grandmother and took great pride in providing a happy home for them. Sandra enjoyed the simple things in life. She cherished animals, children, going to church, gathering with loved ones, celebrating holidays. Sandra's favorite holiday was Christmas. She always had a real tree at home with an angle on top. She enjoyed sitting outside and soaking up the sunshine with her nose in her book, taking her dogs for walks and car rides, and hiking at state parks. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren Abigail, Liliana, and Faith. She loved to read scripture with her bible study group. Sandra viewed our world with love and compassion. Sandra's legacy will continue to live in her two daughters Rachel and Kayla's heart and spirit. Sandra is survived by her husband, Steven; two daughters, Rachel (Walter) Espinoza and Kayla (Mike Bishton) Kaltenberg; grandchildren, Abigail, Liliana and Faith Espinoza; mother, Nancy Bockover; three sisters, Sharon "Mya" Bockover, Sally (Bill) Evans and Sara (Michael) Bockover; brother, Scott (Annette) Bockover; four brothers-in-law, Ron Kaltenberg, Bob Kaltenberg, Larry (Johanna Wertsch) Kaltenberg and Craig (Dana Kuck) Kaltenberg; and sister-in-law, Roxanne (Christopher) Carpenter. She was preceded in death by father, Walter Lee Bockover;. A private family service will be held. It is with sadness that we heard of Sandra's passing. We meet her at the Senior Adult Mission monthly program and meal through our church. We enjoyed several of these get-togethers with her. So friendly and always with an interesting story. She will be missed.
