I was a childhood friend of Sandra when she and her Father lived on Sherman Avenue. We enjoyed many fun times as teens together, maybe a little to much fun at times. Good memories! After school we would take the bus uptown and go to her Dad's gas station to check in, he was a happy fellow and always glad to see us and would treat us to a very scrumptious hot fudge sundae at the Badger Candy Kitchen every time. Sandra and I spent lots of our summer days going down to the UW campus piers and sunbathing until we were burned and then go home to heal. So silly when I look back, but we loved every minute. Sandra played the clarinet in high school and was quite good at it. I was in her wedding and shared the celebration. When her first child, Todd was born it was such a thrill, I considered myself an Aunt, but really wasn't. I cared for him as often as I could, to help out. Rest in peace Dear Sandra Fitch, as I knew her, 'til we meet again. Elizabeth (Liz Steensrud) Jones
