Obituary
MADISON-Delores R. “Dee” Miller, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020. She was born on July 21, 1933, in Columbus, Wis., the daughter of Byron and Clara Bradley. Dee was married to her love, Doug Miller in March of 1954, who preceded her in death in 2002.
Dee loved to be around family and friends and always wanted to hear what the latest happening was in their lives. She attended all the grandchildren's events she could. She enjoyed shopping and even had printed on her tombstone, "Born to shop" so that no one would forget!
Dee worked for the State Medical Society and after her retirement from there, began working part time for Valley Bank/M&I Bank. She was a member of the Elks Club and coordinated many BINGO games at nursing homes. Dee enjoyed roses, family meals, theater outings at the Overture Center and bus trips to Chicago to purchase jewelry with friends. She used to always say, “Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person.”
Dee is survived by her sons, Danny (Lori), Donald and Dennis (Ann); and grandchildren, Brooke, Cheyenne, Renee (Tim), Rachel (Matt), Ben, Hannah (Michael) and Bradley. All of these she loved and touched deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Francis Bradley; and sisters, Marcella Huisman and Rosella Bradley.

I love Delores so much. She was more like my sister than my aunt, always there for me. We lived together at times, traveled together when we were younger, and I knew I could always turn to her for anything. We shared so much - we laughed and cried. She babysat for me and later I babysat for her boys. Dee's family meant everything to her, she loved them dearly and loved to share time with them. We lived miles apart but our hearts were always joined. I will miss her more than words can say. Rest in peace with no pain now, and be with our family who have gone before. I will always love you and miss you. Thank you for always being there for me.

Extending sympathy to the family of Delores. Many lovely memories were made at family gatherings over the years. My parents (Henry & Irene Kusrow) had great, fun, times with Byron, Clara, and their kids. Oh the stories!! The obituary mentions how Dee liked to shop. I recall, years back, being at Younker's Department Store in my 'plain old me attire' when I bumped into Dee who was also shopping. She looked like a million.....fashionably dressed, jewelry to match and pretty as a picture! Dee was always kind, caring, and encouraging to everyone! Let us carry on her belief in pure "kindness"!

I have many happy memories of working at the State Medical Society when Dee was there. After our retirement, we enjoyed many SMS retiree luncheons at various restaurants in and around Madison. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

In the early '80 I came to Madison to go to school. I was introduced to Dee and Doug by their son Don and Beth. Dee and Doug welcomed me to many of their family breakfasts at the restaurant up the hill off of the beltline owned by their friend Avis. I believe it was called Dalton 77. Avis would show up at the table and the room would light up as lively conversation and laughter ensued between Dee and Avis. I ran into Dee many times over the years at various events and she was always as welcoming as the first time I met her. Dee loved her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and friends as much as she loved life. She was an impressive woman with much love and friendship to share. She will be deeply missed by all the people who surround her.
