I have fond memories of the Scheel home by Breese Stevens Field. Mr. and Mrs. Scheel were always so welcoming to their children's friends. Their son Rodney was my friend, my classmate from 5th grade till our junior year at Central when it closed. We stayed in touch even after we graduated from different high schools. One of my fondest memories is making our Home Coming Float in their front yard. As kids we weren't quite as prepared as we should have been. Mr. and Mrs. Scheel were right there helping us with anything we needed. Thank you for the many years of memories.

Those of us at the Dane County Conservation League who remember Doc still miss him. He loved working at the pheasant farm and was always cheerful and upbeat. He was willing to do any task. Wish we had more like him.

Sorry Greg and family about your loss of this wonderful human being. I met Doc through his efforts, along with Greg's, most Saturdays doing whatever was necessary for the DCCL's pheasant farm. His enthusiasm rubbed off on me and others. Tough to keep up with his energy and love for the outdoors. Once done it was off to work with the dogs or lunch with his bride. A great person. I am glad you shared him with us.
