Norma and Julia, I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Bernice. I have thought about Bernice every day since i left Sylvan. I know she has always been in good hands, and she is in even better hands now. She has truly lived a fantastic life and i am grateful i got the chance to meet her. You guys are in my thoughts during this time!

Norma. My sincerest condolences to you and Julia. I have the fondest memories of your Mom and can remember the smell of her fresh bread when I came to your house when we were kids. She was always so kind. I'm glad you had her for so many years. I hope I can talk with you soon. Sandy

I grew up next to this wonderful lady and "Uncle Norm". They were absolutely the best people I've ever known. A lot of my happiest memories were of them and their garden and the kindness they spread. And the time they took out of their day to spend with a little girl who didn't have any friends. And always the cookies. I was so happy to return home after the Army and let my son get to know Aunt Bernice and her bird. Thank you for sharing her with me, she was a light I'll never forget. And she's the reason I'll always have cookies for the neighbor kids. -Jenny next door.
