Elsa-I will so cherish the time we spent in the laboratory together. You taught me many things personally and professionally! We shared many laughs and tears (wait, I guess those were my tears :) ) but I loved every minute. You showed me how to look at data in a new way and to help me know what I did not know in clinical pathology. You always said I should be a director of patient safety as I was so deep into theory and passionate for the cause. I am so glad I was able to see you and Vicki at the farmers market last summer! You looked so amazing -that is how I will always remember you-the bright shining smile. Thank you for everything! Lori

Quam Boys, Your mom was maybe the best baseball mom ever. She loved watching you guys play, and never hovered. She was supportive, kind, and always positive. She gifted her sons with those fine qualities. I pray for your dad, you boys, and all your extended family. Your mom needs no prayers. She is at peace with the Good Lord. Nick Spinelli

Elsa was so great. She was in the Lab when I first came to UW in 1969, and when I returned in the 1990s. She was a wonderful person. My Sympathy to the family.
