MADISON - On Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, Sue E. Trautwein was called home to be with her heavenly Father. Sue was born on July 5, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of the late Kendall E. and Viola A. (Herlache) Trautwein.
In January 1966, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Sue moved to Madison and worked for the State of Wisconsin. For the last 29 years of her working career, she was with the Department of Health and Family Services. When she retired in 1999, Sue was the lead auditor in the Office of Program Review and Audit.
Sue is survived by her brother's children, Gregory A. (Janine) Trautwein and Kendyce S. (Tom) Martinez; and her sister's children, Brian D. (Jennifer), Spencer E., and Kevin M. (Shane Seger) Lamb. Sue is also survived by her brother-in-law, Gerald D. Lamb; her great-nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and good friends, including her neighbors at the Cherokee Condos.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Sally Trautwein; and sister, Julie A. Lamb; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, Wis., at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, with Father Gabriel Lopez-Betanzos presiding. Family and friends who wish to view the Mass via LIVE STREAM may visit Sue’s obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com and click on the Live Webcast link at 11 a.m. on Friday. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. A private burial will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wis.
