Gus Unknown Pappas

Remembering a true hero of “The Greatest Generation” with admiration and love. Thinking of the extended Pappas Family around the country as they honor the memory of their father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle. We will miss the light and warm good humor that Gus brought us all.

I worked with Gus over 40 years ago. I was a senior in high school, working part-time through a co-op program. I don't always remember people from that long ago, but through the years have thought about Gus. He was always so kind to me and had a wonderful sense of humor. The world has lost a wonderful man. My sympathies to his family.

I only just recently met Gus at the care center where I visited quite often before COVID-19. He seemed a kind and interesting fellow, as I learned from son, Jim, one of my School classmates, and who also was diligent in spending nearly every waking hour with his dad, seeing to anything he could do to make his dad comfortable and know he was loved.
