There are few in this world with the heart and kindness of Dan Meier! He was the best friend to my father and I always considered him another grandfather. So many of my childhood memories include Dan. He was such a great storyteller. I will always remember his hunting tails and can still hear his voice as I replay them in my mind. The Gerry Westphal family sends our love and prayers to you all.

Dan was Mr. FIX IT. There was not an engine he could not fix. Dan was a great example of what a friend should be. He always asked me about my health first before he would talk about his own. Best smile I seen on his face was he kept the steam engine running at the Edgerton Steam Engine show. I will miss him. Dan, watch over us from the Steam Engine in Heaven. Rest in peace my friend.

This candle of Love is for you Dad I hope you are at peace and no longer in pain. There is not a day go by since your passing that I haven't thought of you. Something will happen that will trigger the thought of you. I learned so much from you while you were here, you taught me how to be an independent woman and probably knew more mechanical things about cars than most males. You taught me what love and kindness was all about because you showed it to everyone every day of your life. I can honestly say I don't ever remember you saying a hurtful thing about anyone, I was very fortunate to have grown up with such a special dad! I love and miss you forever, Your loving daughter Julie
