MAZOMANIE - Alan E. Deal, age 74, of Mazomanie, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at home surrounded by family. He was born on April 21, 1946, in St. Joseph, Michigan, the son of J. Boyd and Beulah "Kathlyn" (Carris) Deal. Alan graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1964.
Alan received an Associate degree from Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Mich., where he met Maggie Haigler, who he married in 1967. Alan went on to Wayne State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Alan worked as a pharmaceutical sales rep for 15 years, before starting his own business selling medical and laboratory surplus. He was a pilot and member of EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and later on a member of the Masons. Alan enjoyed aviation, studying history, eating chocolate ice cream and watching YouTube.
Alan is survived by his wife, Maggie; son, David (Misty) Deal; and brother, Roger Deal. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Deal; and his parents. A private family burial will be held in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The short time I knew him was pleasant. He was a really sweet guy. I always got a kick out of him when Pastor would say something funny,because he would laugh and make it even funnier. You will be missed Alan. Say hi to my grandson and parents and brother in law Jack. Until we meet again my brother

Uncle Alan was one of the most unique people I've ever met and the world will be a poorer place for him no longer being in it. Karl and I send our sincere condolences to Maggie and David, to my Dad, and to the rest of the family.

Looking at the pictures that David took made me smile. Alan had that way about him. Michael and I enjoyed time with him always....he made us laugh. He didn’t miss much going on though...always watching and always thinking. Very knowledgeable in so many things...interesting to talk to. Alan has been in my family along time. I have got to say ,he always made me laugh when ever I was around him. He always had a joke to tell me. He was smart, funny and was friendly to everyone he met just as if they were his long time friend already . He was also always full of questions of “ what is your opinion?? “ he would say, and just about life in general. I really enjoyed talking with him on a lot of different subjects, he was an amazing conversationalist . May the Lord Bless & keep your soul and Rest In Peace Alan, you will be missed here. My condolences to his wife Maggie ( my cousin) and his son David ,his wife,and grandchildren, may the Lord give you peace and comfort.
