My sympathies to the entire family of Doris. I've known her since going to school with Stacey. Worked with her at the bank and she became a wonderful lifelong friend. I give the gift of Love for our friendship and it is purple a favorite color of hers. I would visit often at her home and we would sit many times out on her swing. We shared our joy of reading. Our library was lucky to have her on the board for many years. She loved listening to Rush and tell me all about the current news happening. She was not afraid to put a political sign in her yard. I watched her do needlework for her children/grandchildren. I saw the joy in her when a grandchild was going to spend the night with her. She deeply loved all her children in a different but special way. I think I am a better person from our friendship. When I wear my butterfly pin, I will always keep Doris in my heart. I know heaven welcomed you with open arms. Till we meet again, thanks for being my friend.

My memories of this wonderful Lady are all filled with her kindness . I came into her and her family's lives about 50 years ago , as a friend of her daughter Barb, my class mate from MATC . I always felt welcome and loved when spending time with the family. She was strong , and gentle , smart , and caring, always a positive , kind person. I am thankful to have had the pleasure of her friendship . Her memory will live on , letting smiles come with it. Heaven has a new Angel to watch over us .

Paul, barb, Stacey, Dale and Clay I am so sorry for your loss and you were very lucky to have Doris as a mother and matriarch of the family. Doris was my cousin, the daughter of my mother’s older sister. We never lived near her, but our families visited each other from time to time while my parents were alive. I remember her as a bubbly, energetic woman who was rightly proud of her large family. When I visited her in Stoughton, she took particular pleasure in showing me the Library, where she was, as everywhere, very active. She is a great loss to her family and her neighbors, and I send my condolences and best wishes to them all.

Doris was the first person to welcome me to Stoughton when I took my new position as Director of the Stoughton Public Library in 2002. She was a joy to work with as the Board President. Her dedication to her community and in particular the library surely made Stoughton a better place to work and live. I will always remember her as a very classy lady and a friend. Pati Chevis
