Obituary

MADISON- Jonathan “Jon” Mullee, age 39, began his eternal life on Monday, May 18, 2020, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Jon was born on Jan. 22, 1981, in Redwood City, Calif. to Michael “Mick” and Margaret “Peggy” Mullee. Moving to Madison in his first year, he was raised with three loving sisters, Allison, Erin and Meghan and four wonderful brothers, twins Kevin and Tim, Peter and Justin. Jon attended St. Maria Goretti Grade School and Memorial High School. His passions included hunting, fishing, numerous sports, cooking for his family, and above all, big campfires surrounded by the ones he loved. Jon worked with his father in the family real estate business as a property manager. He grew in skill over the years, became very accomplished and greatly contributed to the family’s business. Jon’s life forever changed when he met the love of his life, Mariel Lopez Mercado. Mariel was truly a great match and Jon’s greatest life blessing. They were married on June 22, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Church in Verona and were blessed with three sons, Eli (5) and twins, Sawyer and Logan (3). Jon had a true love of life and people, freely offering his friendship to all. His big ready smile, booming voice and warm heart were always given without reservation. While he will be sorely missed, we have gladly given him to his true Father. He was ready to relish his new journey. In lieu of a wake, a visitation/viewing will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI PARISH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison starting at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Holy Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2020. Not many people realize that Jon is responsible for me getting into working on scooters and small engines. He realized I was into bikes and one day said “You know what you would like? I got this scooter on the side of the house you can have to work on.” He was just like that, so generous with both his possessions and his positive ideas. That old Honda express he gave me changed my life in a way I never expected. He had that impact on many people he touched. Thank you Jon. Love you and will miss you. Scott Mullee

Mullee family, I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed when Jon visited his sister at our place!! Such a fun, charismatic, and kind person. Jon was very fortunate to have such a close, colorful crew in his corner during this past months.

Jon was always up for anything, especially if it helped someone out and brought a smile to someone's face. Like that time he grew a mustache and encouraged his brothers to do so because Scott Mullee wanted people to take part in Movember, to raise money for prostate cancer. And then the whole family had a mustache themed Thanksgiving. He made time for people. He showed up. When he'd hear I was visiting from Montana and heading to Maple Glen to see Matt's family he'd make sure to come by and give me one of those Jonny boy hugs. I'm going to miss those hugs, and that smile. Xoxo.

Very sorry to hear this news. I lived in Maple Glen and worked with Jon as the Director at Badger Rock Neighborhood Center. There was no one better than Jon. I owe him a lot and will never forget his affect on my life.
