SAINT GERMAIN, Wis. - Tom passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, with his family by his side, at Howard Young Medical Center in Minocqua, Wis. He was born in Madison on May 16, 1941. He graduated from Central High School in Madison and served in the U.S. Marine Reserves.
Tom was the ninth of 15 children of Maurice and Lucile Connery. He married Beverly Asen on Oct. 22, 1966. They lived in Brooklyn, Wis., the majority of their years together. They later moved full time to their favorite place, their home on Little Saint Germain Lake. Tom was a member of IBEW local 159 for many years and purchased and managed various rental properties together with Beverly.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Beverly and their four children, Tom (Marcia) of New Franken, Chris (Jill) of Luxemburg, Brian (Cheri) of Janesville and Colleen (Brad) Adams of DeForest. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kyle, Elijah, Kit, Christina, Michael and Owen; and four siblings, Emmett (JoAnn), Sandy (Jim) Bancroft, Tim (Randy) and Jerry (Patty). He was preceded in death by his parents; and 10 of his 15 siblings.
Tom valued family, and especially time spent together “Up North” at their lake home in St. Germain. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, home cooked meals, desserts, and coffee. Tom could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything.
A celebration of his life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vilas County Lakes and River’s Association (VCLRA). A special thank you goes to the caring staff at Howard Young Medical Center.
