Rose L King

COTTAGE GROVE - Rose Louise King, age 89, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1935, in Monroe, Wis., the daughter of Robert and Orvinda (Jacobson) Aeschlimann.

Rose graduated from Monroe High School in 1953. She married Robert King on July 25, 1954, in Monroe, Wis. She worked as a payroll clerk for Dane County for many years, retiring in 1996.

Rose enjoyed knitting and would make afghans for family members and hats for veterans. In her youth, she loved to dance and assemble puzzles, and she was an avid reader. She also loved being outside gardening. But most of all, Rose loved being in the company of friends and family, telling stories and spending time at the cabin up north.

Rose is survived by her sons, Robert (Bridget) King, Mark (Denise) King and Michael (Lori) King; sister, Linda (Doug) Beck; nine grandchildren, Jess Graff, Jay Buss, Jackie (Carter) Buss, Aaron (Falicia) King, Ashley King, Abigail (Ashley L.) King, Austin (Katie) King, Alana King and Onyx "Mara" King; and three great-grandchildren, Charles King, Iona King and Zoey King. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert King; parents, Orvinda and Robert; brothers, Gene Aeschlimann and Karl Aeschlimann; daughter, Mary L. King; and great-grandchild, Korra King.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
