I live a few blocks from Don and first conversed with him when he had a garage sale at his house with quite an assortment of things to purchase. As I learned over the years, Don was very friendly, dependable, generous and loved to converse! Eventually I took many of my children to his home to order a stringed instrument. At my request, this often included a demonstration of his singing while playing the mandolin that he had made. I was so happy to introduce my kids to an older person who loved music himself and who went to generous lengths to encourage others to also find joy in playing an instrument. Don's grateful, positive attitude toward life could not be hidden. My condolences to Don's family. You are all being remembered in our prayers.
