Obituary
MOUNT HOREB - Ruth Viola Kleppe, age 98, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at Ingleside Communities in Mount Horeb. She was born on Jan. 18, 1923, in Blue Mounds, Wis., to Norwegian immigrants Sigvart and Hanna (Anderson) Nygaard.
Ruth lived her whole life in the Mount Horeb, Wis., area. She grew up on two farms in rural Blue Mounds and attended Ruste Grade School. Ruth graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1940. On Sept. 18, 1949, she married Andres Kleppe at Perry Lutheran Church in Daleyville, Wis. Their son, Robert Alan, was born on Jan. 27, 1951, in Madison.
She was employed by the Dane County Western Superintendent's Office in Mount Horeb and by the Dane County Hospital and Home in Verona for over 40 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, knitting, singing, playing bridge and spending time with her precious family. She and Andres were faithful fans to their son and grandsons' sporting events. She had a gift of making everyone she met feel special.
She is survived by her son, Bob (Becky) Kleppe of Mount Horeb; grandsons, Matt (Kristin) Kleppe of Bella Vista, Ark., Ryan (Ryann) Kleppe of Sun Prairie and Tyler Kleppe of Lexington, Ky.; great-grandsons, Will and Everett; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andres; sisters, Esther (lrvin) Bakken, Clara (Bill) Anderson, Signe (Orton) Johnson and Mae (Kenneth) Kleppe.
Ruth's genuine love and listening ear touched many lives in her long life. Her deep abiding faith through good times as well as difficult times was an inspiration. Her light will continue to shine through all of us who were privileged to know her. "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 12:7.
Ruth's family is especially grateful to the staff of Ingleside Communities and Agrace HospiceCare for their loving and compassionate care. They were truly angels who watched over her.
