John S. Steinhoff Jr.

MOUNT HOREB - John S. Steinhoff Jr., age 68, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020. He was born on June 2, 1951, in Lancaster, Wis., the son of John Steinhoff Sr. and Lavon Kelly. John graduated from Lancaster High School in 1969 and then attended Southwest Tech where he learned his trade of Plumbing. He met the love of his life Patricia Taylor and they were united in marriage on June 20, 1970, in Lancaster. John worked as a Master Plumber for 50 years. He worked for Fitchburg Plumbing until 2010, and then worked part time for A+ Plumbing until six months ago. John was a lover of Friday fish fry's, happy hour, sassy bartenders and the corner stool at Marcines. He had one-liners that everyone will remember him for and was an avid hunter. His favorite thing was his family and being a Papa to nine amazing grandkids. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patsy Steinhoff; three children, Eric (Nancy) Steinhoff, Nichole (Brad) Junck and Jennifer (Mike Kersten) Schlicht; mother, Lavon Kelly; son-in-law, John Schlicht; nine beautiful blessing grandchildren, Logan, Miles and Ethan Steinhoff, Alli (Brandon) Cushman, Zach Junck, Sydney, Gage and Aubrey Schlicht; two sisters, Ann (Brian) Miesen and Kim Coleman; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Steinhoff, Sr.; brother, Roger Steinhoff; parents-in-law, Lauren and Evelyn Taylor; brother-in-law, Larry Taylor; sister-in-law, Sandra Taylor;and uncle, Marley Pendleton. A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. 8th St., Mount Horeb, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020.
