MADISON-David R. Burchard, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on Oct. 18, 1944, in Stoughton, the son of Richard and June (Olson) Burchard.
David graduated from Portage in 1962. He married Judi Porter on May 9, 1964, in Portage. David worked in sales at Baraboo Sysco Foods and was a business owner in the hospitality field. He loved everything related to golfing and enjoyed all sports, boating, fishing and music.
David is survived by his loving wife, Judi; two sons he was very proud of, Richard (Jenny) Burchard and Kevin Burchard; grandchildren, Trevor Ranker (Tayla) and Taylor Ranker (Levy); great-grandson, Kayden Ranker; brother, Tim (Janell) Burchard; sisters, Billie Jean Langer and Bonnie (Mike) Mattila; brother-in-law, Dan Porter; and his beloved dog, Elle. He is further survived by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Gonna miss the conversations on the way to some golf course. Now I have to talk to Kevin. Ugh 🤣He was a gentle even tempered man who always was supportive of his sons but took me in and made me feel like family. He will be missed especially when he beats us for skins and greenies⛳ Will never forget.

When Dave was my food salesman he always emphasized coffee and his was the best by no other comparison and I told him another company had the identical coffee we argued for quite a while about it and one day he flung the door open threw up his arms and said in a loud voice "It's the same coffee " and we never discussed it again

I met Dave later in life through my Uncle, Larry Rataczak. He had alot of medical problems, but he was still was positive, fun and a pleasure to be around. He loved golf and was very good at it, even though I'm much younger, I could never beat him, or even come close. RIP sir....
