MARSHALL – Phillip “Phil” Fry, age 73, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020. He was born on March 8, 1946, the son of Lester and Lucy (Rabuck) Fry. Phil grew up in Sauk county and later moved to Madison, where he spent the remainder of his life. He married Brenda Pulver on June 18, 1988 at Burke Lutheran Church in Burke, Wis. He built the house that they shared together and enjoyed every moment of it.
Phil proudly worked as a bus driver for Madison Metro for 27 years before retiring and was proud of his safe driving award throughout his career. He was active throughout his life and was always involved in his community. Phil was also a member of the Teamsters 695. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and enjoyed slot machines, scratch-offs, and traveling to Las Vegas whenever he had the opportunity. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and grandchildren.
Phil is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Ron (Heather) Fry, Ricky (Jennifer) Fry, Raquel (James) Hansen, Heather (Kyle) Wallace, Kevin (Allison) Fry, Andrew Fry and Matthew (Caitlynn Allen) Fry; nineteen grandchildren, Andrea Fry, Shannon (John) Fury, Jarrett Fry, Elizabeth Fry, Weston Fry, Aubrey Fry, Ryan Fry, Holly Fry, Karissa Klee, MaKayla Klee, Juli Anna Klee, Noah Wallace, Parker Wallace, Caleb Wallace, Kalli Fry, Abbi Fry, Kenzi Fry, Zoey Fry and Blake Fry; great-grandchild, Carolynn Hansen; siblings, Hazel Fry, Roy (Hazel) Fry, Phyllis Brown and Gary (Karen) Fry; mother-in-law, Phyllis Pulver; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Fry; father-in-law, Marvin Pulver; and several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, and again at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the start of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens with a luncheon to follow at MADISON EAGLES 623, 2109 Bartillon Drive, Madison. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I didn't know Phil but if his daughter, Raquel, took after him in any way, I can say he was a great man! I think it's safe to say that you can judge a man by his children. May your soul rest in peace.
