Obituary
MADISON - Esther Agnes McDonald, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020. She was born on May 21, 1929, in Poynette, the daughter of William and Sophie (Falk) Pulsfus. Esther married Bernard McDonald on Oct. 17, 1953, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Esther was a homemaker until 1978, when she started work at American Family Insurance, where she retired from in 1994. Esther had a tremendous work ethic, having come from a family of 10 children. She was a great cook and baker who loved to garden and can her bounty. She loved to camp with her family and enjoyed traveling. She loved doing crafts, puzzles and playing cards with her circle of friends. Most of all, she was a wonderful, caring and loving mother and grandmother.
Esther is survived by her children, Dennis (Ginnell), Linda (Richard) Bernstein, Mary Schaefer (Randy Lloyd) and Mark (Rachel); grandchildren, Nicholas (fiancé, Alisha Paul), Kevin, Abbey (Brian Beck), Tracey (Alex) Feuling, Jacob and Megan; sisters, Alice Lanzendorf and Madeline Shaw; and many dear friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; and siblings, Rodney, Herbert, Clarence, Leonard, Henry, Willis and Adeline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, with Father Steve Brunner presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church.
