To the Family of Suzanne, I met Suzanne when she joined the Threshold Singers of Madison. I sensed a free spirit within her and to me she brightened the room when she entered by her bright colors and hat, I hope I am remembering correctly. Anyway, my heart always warmed when I saw her. After she left, I saw her again when she scheduled bedside sings for Bill. Then we crossed paths again at Lakeside Coffeehouse where the MAUI (ukulele group) has singalongs. It was ALWAYS nice to see Suzanne. When I spoke to her last she just told me she was ill and I am saddened to see that she has merged with the stardust. Sometimes people cross your paths in life and you don't learn alot about their lives yet you are touched by them. Suzanne was one of those people for me. May your memories bring comfort to you during this changing time. Bev Meyer

I miss Sue. And I had missed her for the last half year, after Sue moved out of her pretty little house on Hermione Street to a Westside apartment complex. We’d pretty much lost contact, which made me puzzled sad. But now I realize Sue’s worsening health was leading her inexorably to detachment, to thoughts of her impending “merging with the stardust”. Years ago Sue had been my sister-in-law, married to my big brother Mike Pfrang. After their divorce, decades passed and Sue and I had no contact. Then in Fall 2018 I moved from Indiana to Madison’s Eastside. Unexpectedly, Sue welcomed me and became my needed new friend. Good talks, exercise classes together, a trip together to the Mayo Clinic for her consultations. As years before, Sue’s barely contained effervescent enthusiasm delighted me, as it has delighted many others. But the maxim is all good things must end. But they were good. Off to the stardust with you, Sue.

I have lots of fond memories. The best being in her living room with some friends screaming at the TV screen when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show. We were all in love with them. Will miss you. Say hi to John and George on that heavenly stage,

I knew Sue from our college days at UWSP where we met when we dated room-mates. We later became room-mates & remained close friends all these years, through weddings, divorces, the birth of my children, deaths, good times & bad. Se was always a bright spot for me. I appreciated her sense of humor & her exploration of other ways of seeing the world. In later years we learned water color painting together, & enjoyed a weekend workshop in Door County. We went hiking in Vermont as seniors, canoeing on the Chrystal River, & tubing down the Apple River when we were younger. We shared a love of cooking & gardening, & watching "Grace & Frankie" on Netflix. There was nothing we couldn't talk about. I miss her every day. My time spent with her was always a pleasure, & there is a hole where she used to be. Her illness didn't seem to dampen her spirit much. She is an example for all of us of how to handle living & dying.
