I was so sad to hear of Dolores's passing. Back in the early 70's I spent time during the summers staying with the Debevecs, as Ed was my best friend in high school. Ed & I worked at the canning factory in Lodi. Dolores became a second mother to me during those times, always making Ed and I lunches to eat during our late shift, always thoughtful, and always supportive. I fondly remember those days and my time spent with my 'second mom.'

Though I never met Dolores, I feel like I know her through stories that her daughter Cathy shared with me. I know she was a woman of strong Catholic faith and that her Slovenian Heritage and family were extremely important to her. I got to learn what Potica is and try Cathy's recipe that she learned from her mom. I loved hearing stories about life on the farm near Lodi, and after reading this memorial to Dolores, I see where Cathy inherited her love of nature, gardening and building\refurbishing. May she rest in Peace and my best to Cathy and her entire family.

Dave, sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Sounds like a saint indeed. How wonderful she lived such a long life with her children. Our prayers are with you and your family - Mark (Harvey!) and Laurieann Endres.
