Tom was a kind and gracious person who I came to know in the early 1990s.. I bow hunted on his farm for 20 years and often enjoyed long chats about the current state of the cattle industry and local sports teams which he was particularly fond of. He followed closely the Barneveld High School sports programs and was a particular fan of Barneveld girls basketball. Tom had an uncanny ability to know exactly when I was there without having any prior indication I was coming. If I as much as left a loose glove in the woods he would find it within a day and call me and let me know he had found it, anything out of place on his property was quickly noted and recovered. He loved morel mushrooms and loved it even more every year when I would leave a bundle of them hanging on his door after a long search in his woods. After successfully producing some in vitro embryos for him in the 90s while I was at UW-Madison, he told me I "had a place to hunt for the rest of my life". Tom was kind and gentle and never offered a harsh word about anyone. He loved his grandchildren dearly and would update my brother and I about their recent accomplishments at every opportunity. My life was enriched as a result of meeting Tom and Phyllis and they will both remain in my heart forever. You will be greatly missed my friend and I wish all the best to Phyllis and his extended family.

Thanks Tom for all the good memories in Redmond school and Brocton High school. Remember the times I got to come to your farm on route 133. You me and Jim made bow and arrows.Riding Beauty and see who could stay on the longest and ride her. Poor pony. Playing 4H softball. Lost contact like I did with others after school. To his family so glad you got to have him in your life as long as you did. He was a great person. His accomplishment speak for themselves. Condolences to his family. Tom RIP.
