Obituary
MOUNT HOREB - Charles Stanley "Chuck" Lybek, age 68, of Mount Horeb, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at his home. He was born on Dec. 21, 1950, in Madison, Wis., the son of Stanley and Dora (Starczynski) Lybek.
Chuck graduated from Middleton High School in 1969. There he served on student council as class treasurer. He lettered in football, wrestling and track and field.
He worked as a carpenter for over 30 years before retiring.
Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Wisconsin Green Bay Packers and Badgers football fan. Hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes. He participated in sports throughout his life including fast and slow pitch softball and bowling.
Chuck is survived by his children, Melissa, Zach and Hannah Lybek; the mother of his children Julie (Walker) Lybek; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Haley, Braelyn, Madison and Oliver; and siblings, Darlene Holzworth, Jim Bonner and Jerry Bonner. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Beverly Nichols.
A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019. A celebration of life will follow at DAHMEN’S AT HAWKS LANDING, 88 Hawks Landing Circle, Verona.
Chuck’s witty and fun-loving personality will be missed dearly by the people whose life he touched.

I am a server at Gus’s diner and gotten to know and care for Chuck. He ALWAYS ALWAYS made me laugh! I looked forward to seeing him and cracking jokes. The news of his passing truly weighed heavy on my heart along with my sisters who also works at Gus’s. May he now Rest In Peace. We’ll miss you Chuck and we will never forget you!

Oh, "Wiff", please tell us that this isn't so!!! Your friendship to many has always been bigger than life! And, now, you are suddenly gone!?!? Not right, not fair! I am tremendously glad to have had a nice chat with you at your 50th class reunion a couple months ago at the Sport Bowl. A sad reminder to not ever pass on a chance to connect with an important acquaintance.
