Obituary

OREGON - Pearl E. Montalto, age 98, of Oregon, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. She was born on August 13, 1923, in Sun Prairie, Wis., the daughter of William and Claira (Kendall) Ninedorf. She married Paul Montalto on Nov. 2, 1940. Together, they loved to travel. Pearl lived to be a homemaker. Her family meant the most to her and she would do anything for them. She was skilled in the kitchen and loved to cook for people. She also loved to crochet and made things for everyone she knew. Pearl learned to swim at the YMCA and always enjoyed being in the water. She even tried golfing and skiing. She found snow to be uniquely beautiful and also enjoyed listening to music. Pearl is survived by her three daughters, Gloria (Edward) Urfer, Pauletta Jones and Carol (Ralph) Smith; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Montalto; son, Joseph Alan Montalto; three sisters, Grace, Myrle and Helen; and her three brothers, Wilber Ninedorf, Russell Ninedorf and Zeno Ninedorf. Graveside service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday Nov. 29, 2021. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021.
